Increasing the number of school field trips could help improve children's understanding and knowledge, according to a group promoting science education. The Association for Science Education says getting outside to study biology, geology and other sciences helps pupils engage better with what they are studying. But in recent years more teachers have become reluctant to take their students out of the classroom. Jenny Hill met some of the children enjoying and learning about the outdoors at Skelton Grange Environment Centre in Leeds.
