DfES report on response to Manifesto Consultation Wed 26th Apr  11:59
DfES have published a summary of the results of the 680 consultation responses on the DfES website. http://www.dfes.gov.uk/consultations/downloadableDocs/Consultation results mar 06.doc As you may be aware, we have published a summary of the results of the 680 consultation responses on the DfES website. http://www.dfes.gov.uk/consultations/conResults.cfm?consultationId=1370. We are seeking an early steer from Ministers on what shape the DfES pledges to the Manifesto might take. We hope this will then provide a platform for further discussion with key stakeholders.
It is important that
as broad a consensus as possible is formed around the
key aims of the Manifesto. Whilst the DfES has taken a
lead in trying to bring together the wide spectrum of
organisations and individuals involved, we do not want to
see it being 'imposed from the centre'. To this end, we
will continue our discussions and try to create a
framework that brings together the
wide-ranging views of stakeholders and offers a
realistic framework through which to encourage and
support more high quality learning experiences outside the
classroom for children and young people.
